About

My name is Regina Barber, and I currently reside in Marietta, Texas. Over 35 years ago, the Lord Himself introduced me to Health God’s Way. While studying a Bible gifted by my mother, Mary Hughes, I came across Leviticus 17:11: “the life of the flesh is in the blood.” This revelation led me to seek a healthier lifestyle, and I prayed for guidance.

For weeks, I ate mostly grapes, cashews, and salad, trusting God to lead me. He soon guided me to a cooking class with Sister Evita Tezeno, who taught me how to prepare delicious vegetarian dishes. My mother then reinforced the importance of flavor and texture, shaping my ability to create wholesome and enjoyable meals.

Later, Sister Kimberley Wade and I—alongside our mothers—honed our cooking skills. My father, Thomas Hughes, supported me by tasting many early creations, even when they lacked taste, color, and texture. Over time, our recipes improved, and we launched Taste and See, a business/ministry where we shared vegetarian cuisines and desserts. As we grew, we founded The Crystal Veil, teaming up with Sister Nakia Andrews to conduct cooking schools, cater church events, and coordinate weddings—all to glorify God.

My passion for health led me to Medical Missionary Work, first through Sister Earlene Jackson, who introduced me to herbal healing. I received formal training from Thomas and Laverne Jackson at M.E.E.T. Ministry, learning the power of food as medicine and natural healing principles. A defining experience came in 1995 when I co-managed Centurion Bible School of Health Sanitarium in Oregon, where I witnessed countless miracles in patients who had been sent home with no medical hope.

Years later, I joined Naturally Yours, a health and spiritual wellness ministry, with a dedicated team including Earlene Jackson, Carolyn Lark, Nakia Powell, and others. Our focus was education, training, and health-based cooking classes.

Since moving to Marietta, the Lord has birthed another ministry: Come Aside and Rest Awhile, with Sisters Nakia Powell and Carolyn Lark. This ministry provides hands-on training in country living, encouraging believers to prepare for a lifestyle of self-sufficiency and spiritual growth. Many have begun transitioning from city life as a result of this work.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of helping many people—both sick and well—learn the principles of healthful cooking and disease treatment. One of my greatest honors was caring for my sister during her battle with colon cancer, teaching her and her family how healthful remedies, a vegetarian lifestyle, and faith in God can sustain life. Walking with her until she went to sleep in Jesus was one of my most sacred experiences.

I wouldn’t trade this calling for anything. I look forward to working full-time in this field, following the example of the Greatest Medical Missionary, Jesus Christ:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”— 3 John 2
